Martha has been a lover of choral music her whole life. She has taught middle school, high school, and college choirs but her real love is sacred music and church choir. Martha holds a Bachelor of Music in Voice from NCSA, a Master's Degree in Music Ed from Western Carolina and a Masters of Music in Choral Conducting and Sacred Music from East Carolina University. She has two children. Her son, Judson Cowan, lives in Edinburgh, Scotland with his wife, Blair, and her daughter, Dorothy Cowan, lives and works in NYC. She is married to Joe Kluttz, who has two sons who live in the Charlotte area. They chose Raleigh as their retirement home and have lived here happily for about two years.
